countune is a serious "International Internet Social Art Project" founded in 2009 by the German artist Gerd Jansen. Participation and use of the site are free. Each picture is a joint endeavour by countune and an independent individual or group of individuals (participants).

Whereas the length of the picture and the colors used can be specified, it is not possible to specify either the shape of the picture or the numbers involved. The shape of the picture is not determined until the picture section is finally activated; this is for purely logical and technical reasons. Consequently, it will always come as something of a surprise to all parties.

Everyone can create three countune pictures in conjunction with an e-mail address. It is not possible to create more for security reasons. To these three countunes belong clearly this e-mail address and a password.

After sending the image data, the image will be activated immediately. countune reserves the right to correct incorrect entries or to delete submissions that fail to correspond to the directives given without further comment.

countune guarantees that each set of numbers will be assigned only once.

A transaction that has been correctly undertaken by both parties can’t be undone because of the ongoing allocation of the numbers. But it is possible to change the color values via a login.

countune is an open internet platform and the participants form a community. countune offers that everyone in this community, but also outsiders, the pictures they like, can download in two versions free of charge. For this offer each participant gives countune the right with the creation of a countune picture. The offers "Change Color" and "E-Card" can only be used by project participants via login.

In placing an order, the participant gives countune the right to publish his or her name and the picture on the countune website as well as the right to use these in conjunction with any countune presentations (exhibitions, printed media, facebook and other Internet platforms) that might occur.

Links can be installed via the picture - to the participant's website for example - if the website address is provided. This will only be done at the participant's request. Links are provided free of charge.

countune will not make any further use of the participant's name.

countune will not share the participant's e-mail address with any third parties. It serves exclusively for the login and the sending of the newsletter if this is desired. The newsletter can be unsubscribed at any time.

countune receives all rights to the picture.

A commercial marketing with a countune-picture is only possible with the agreement from countune. In all such cases, a percentage share is due to countune with whom consultation on the matter is absolutely necessary. The name 'countune' must remain associated with the picture in every case.

countune is a registered Trademark and therefore every picture is special, unique and with a permanent value.
